Cognac & Plaid

November 13, 2014

Plaid has got to me one of my favorite trends for the fall/winter right now. I'm especially loving the blanket scarves that are so popular because they add instant style (and warmth) to any outfit. Because this scarf has an array of colors in it, I thought I'd simplify the look with neutrals. These boots are one of my favorite pairs because it took me forever to find the exact shade of cognac I was looking for and when I found these it was love at first sight! Cognac is such a classic color to accessorize with and to me it's the perfect neutral without being bland. I'd love to hear how you are styling your plaid this season!

Blog Inspirations

November 11, 2014
Since starting the blog I've had a lot of people asking me questions about it - "Why are you doing this?", "what are you trying to get out of this?", "what's your end-goal?". It got me thinking about my motivations behind starting InThisFashion. I can't say that I have all the answers but one thing that I did notice is that it all comes down to my passion for fashion and creativity. I might be approaching this in the wrong way - I should probably have a clearer idea of where I want this to go - but it's still fresh to me and I'm just enjoying learning along with you guys as I go!

One thing I can say for certain though, is that I look to other bloggers for constant inspiration. There are so many amazing women out there blogging away, and they're just so incredible at it! I love checking out their sites (and insta accounts) to see how their pushing themselves forward and how I can learn from their talent. I've rounded up a few of my favorites that I check out on the daily (no particular order):

1) Christine Andrew of Hello Fashion Blog

(Photos from www.hellofashionblog.com)

I love Christine's style because it's just so effortless. Everything she puts together seems so organic - you can tell she truly has amazing style. She knows how to pair classics with trendy pieces and nothing comes off as contrived. She also provides a lot of "how-to" tips so you can nail the look the same way she does. She's so classic and effortless, I can't say it enough! Plus the cameos from her adorable baby boy are a great bonus!

2) Sazan Barzani of Sazan

(Photos from sazan.me)

Can you say gorgeous?! I just love checking out Sazan's blog and instagram accounts because she always has something fun and interesting up. Not only does she have incredibly creative style, she also posts a ton about her beauty routines and some beauty products, which I love. Her blog is such a treat!

2) Rachel Parcell of Pink Peonies

(Photos from www.pinkpeonies.com)

If I had to use one word to describe Rachel's style, I would say chic. Even if she's just going out for a stroll, she is always so well put together. It's amazing. I love her classic pairings and I love how she invites her readers into her home with her design posts. She really makes you feel like you're friends, even though you've never met. Oh, and her little puppy is so adorable!

4) Jackie Welling of Little J Style

(Photos from www.littlejstyle.com)

Jackie seems like the sweetest and friendliest person ever. Her style is so fun and flirty and she styles her outfits in such a way that is realistic and attainable. In fact, I've purchased a few items after seeing them on her. I love how she doesn't shy away from color, especially since she has such a vibrant accessory in her hair as it is! I draw a lot of inspiration from her blog, it's really amazing!

Who are some of the bloggers that inspire you guys?

XOXO,
NEDA

Leather Pants (Part 2)

November 8, 2014

Happy weekend lovelies!

I wanted to keep the elements the same for this look as I did for the previous. I swapped out the leopard slip ons for some heels and I kept the same statement necklace. Like I said in my last post, these leather joggers are so versatile that it's so simple to transform them to night out appropriate. This is my first cropped sweater purchase and I'm just loving it!

I hope you have a beautiful Saturday!

XOXO,
NEDA
